ConversationPilot vs Final Round AI: open live coaching vs a candidate-side answer feed
Final Round AI is built for job candidates and leads with concealment. ConversationPilot is a live coach on your side of the call, private to you, transparent to everyone else. Here is a fair comparison, with pricing and data facts checked on 14 September 2026.
Final Round AI (Interview CoPilot, made by Pump Labs Inc.) is a macOS and Windows desktop app for job candidates: it listens to a live interview through system audio, streams suggested answers into a window designed to stay out of screen shares and recordings, and writes a scored debrief afterwards. ConversationPilot is a desktop coaching app for the professional running the call, in sales, recruitment on the interviewer side, customer success and fundraising, that shows real-time coaching cards and a post-call report. The structural difference is posture and data: Final Round AI markets stealth mode as a headline feature and automatically records and uploads session audio, while ConversationPilot is a live coach on your side of the call, private to you, transparent to everyone else: no bot joins, no audio stored, never trained on your calls. Final Round AI's live mode costs $150 per month or from $25 per month billed annually with no free trial; ConversationPilot starts at $39 per month with a 7-day card-required trial that never charges an unused account.
Quick comparison
Final Round AI and ConversationPilot share one piece of architecture: both are native desktop apps that capture system audio, so neither one adds a bot to your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call. After that, they diverge almost completely.
Final Round AI is a candidate-side product. Its Interview CoPilot detects the interviewer's question, streams a suggested answer into a private window a few seconds later, reads on-screen coding prompts with Screen Help, and then produces an automatic Interview Debrief with a score. Its homepage describes the window as "100% invisible. 100% undetectable." and Stealth Mode is on by default.
ConversationPilot is built for the person leading the conversation. During a sales call, a candidate screen you are running as the interviewer, a renewal conversation or an investor meeting, it surfaces one glanceable coaching card at a time: the next question to ask, a way to handle the objection that was just raised, a live qualification or screening scorecard, a talk-to-listen nudge. Then it writes the report. It is a live coach on your side of the call, private to you, transparent to everyone else: no bot joins, no audio stored, never trained on your calls.
- Final Round AI: suggested answers for job candidates, a stealth window and a scored debrief
- ConversationPilot: live coaching for the professional running the call, plus a post-call report
- Both capture system audio with no bot in the meeting
- Different users, different posture on concealment, very different data handling
Who each tool is for
Final Round AI is aimed squarely at job seekers: software engineers facing coding and system-design rounds on HackerRank, CoderPad, CodeSignal or LeetCode, plus product managers, data scientists, finance, marketing, healthcare and operations candidates, students and people who have been laid off. It sells individual consumer subscriptions only. There is no interviewer or recruiter mode, no sales or customer-success mode, and no team, seat or manager tier. If you are on the hiring side of the table, it is simply not built for you.
ConversationPilot is for the professional whose job is the conversation: account executives and SDRs, recruiters and hiring managers running screens and interviews, customer success managers on renewals and QBRs, founders pitching investors. It ships four modes (sales, recruitment on the interviewer side, customer success, fundraising) and scales from a Solo plan to Team and Manager plans with dashboards, playbooks and a call-review library.
Where does that leave a candidate? ConversationPilot's interview use is preparation and practice: rehearse with a friend or a mock interviewer, get a report on how you structured your answers and how much you talked, and go into the real thing better prepared. In a live interview, ConversationPilot should only be used where the employer's rules allow an AI assistant, and the recruitment mode itself is designed for the interviewer, so that screening is more consistent and less biased.
Real-time vs post-call
Both products work live and both produce something afterwards, so this is not a notetaker-versus-copilot split. The difference is what appears on screen and who it is for.
Final Round AI's live output is an answer: the app transcribes the interviewer, identifies the question and streams a response, word by word, resume- and job-description-aware, typically within a few seconds. A G2 reviewer measured roughly one to one and a half seconds to a structured answer. Screen Help does the same for coding prompts it can see on screen. When the session ends, an Interview Debrief scores the candidate across clarity, structure, depth, signals and follow-up, and that debrief feeds the next Goal. The free plan also includes unlimited AI mock interviews, which is a genuinely useful practice loop.
ConversationPilot's live output is coaching, not a script. It interprets the conversation and shows the professional a next question, an objection response, a buying or candidate signal, or a scorecard update, in under two seconds, one card at a time so you stay present. The post-call report includes a summary, action items, speaking analytics, a score and a follow-up draft, and on Team plans it flows into a manager dashboard and call-review library. The philosophy is different: Final Round AI aims to supply the words; ConversationPilot aims to help you find your own.
How audio is captured: bot, system audio or driver
Neither tool sends a bot into the meeting, which is why both work on platforms that notetaker bots cannot join, such as phone screens or coding assessments. Both capture the computer's system audio plus the microphone inside a native desktop app.
Final Round AI runs on macOS 14.4 or newer (Apple Silicon and Intel; 14.4 is required for direct capture of meeting audio on the same computer) and Windows 10 or newer. Users record a short voice sample so the app can separate the candidate's voice from the interviewer's, and an Another device mode covers phone interviews. Its documented platform list includes Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, HackerRank, CoderPad, CodeSignal, HireVue, LeetCode, Mercor, Amazon Chime, Zoom Phone, WhatsApp and Discord. One important detail from its FAQ: the current desktop app automatically records session audio during live, phone and practice sessions and uploads the recording after the session, and there is no session-recording on/off control in Settings. Screen video is not recorded.
ConversationPilot runs on macOS and Windows and captures your microphone and the other side's audio as separate streams, so attribution is exact. On macOS 14.2 or newer and on Windows it takes system audio natively with a single permission prompt; on older Macs it falls back to the free BlackHole virtual audio device, which the first-launch sound check sets up for you. The audio is processed live for transcription and is not stored at all. What remains after the call is the transcript and the report, both yours to keep or delete.
Languages
Final Round AI's product page lists 143 locales across 76 spoken languages, plus a menu of 25 coding-language options including JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, C#, Rust, SQL and Bash. The answer language and coding language are chosen per Goal or per session in Preflight rather than auto-detected, and an older vendor article still quotes 91 languages, so treat the headline figure as the current one.
ConversationPilot detects the language of the call automatically, or lets you pin it when your calls are always in one language; the desktop app currently offers English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. Auto-detect works best with clear speech, so a recruiter switching between an English screen and a German one can usually leave it alone, while a team that always sells in one language may prefer to pin it. ConversationPilot does not offer coding-language assistance, because writing code in an assessment is not what it is for.
Pricing, checked 14 September 2026
Final Round AI's rendered plan page shows five tiers in US dollars: Free at $0 (unlimited mock interviews, basic AI report, limited question bank, no live Copilot), Monthly at $150 per month, Quarterly at $83.33 per month billed quarterly (roughly $250 a quarter), Yearly at $25 per month billed annually (roughly $300 a year) and a Premium MAX plan at $41.67 per month billed annually (roughly $500 a year) with premium AI models and priority support. All paid tiers include unlimited Interview Copilot and stealth mode. The homepage summarises this as Pro from $25 per month, and states that there is no free trial for live sessions. Refunds are governed by a 72-hour money-back guarantee that applies once per customer and is voided by two or more sessions each over 30 minutes; Stripe processing fees are deducted, and monthly purchases are non-refundable except for verified technical failures. Note that the vendor's own pages disagree with each other in places (its pricing article still lists $90 per month) and its FAQ tells you to check the currency and final amount at checkout for your region, so rely on the checkout page rather than a blog post. Trustpilot reviews from August and September 2026 frequently mention being billed $150, $250 or $300 upfront after expecting $25 a month, which is worth knowing before you subscribe.
ConversationPilot is priced per seat for business use, in USD, GBP or EUR. Free covers 3 recorded calls a month with a post-call report and no live coaching. Solo is $39 per month or $384 a year (100 coached calls a month), Team is $59 per seat per month or $588 a year with unlimited calls, manager dashboards and playbooks, and Manager is $89 per seat per month or $900 a year with advanced analytics and a dedicated success manager. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day trial; a card is required, the first-charge date and amount are shown at checkout and emailed twice, and there is a no-usage rule: an account that has never run a coached call is not charged. If the trial ends unused it is extended once, and if it is still unused after that it is cancelled rather than billed. Cancellation is one click online.
- Final Round AI live mode: $150/month, or $25/month billed annually (about $300 upfront); no live trial; 72-hour refund window with a usage cap
- Final Round AI Free: unlimited mock interviews, no live Copilot
- ConversationPilot: Free (3 recorded calls/month), Solo $39/month, Team $59/seat, Manager $89/seat; annual saves about 18%
- ConversationPilot trial: 7 days, card required, never charged if you never run a coached call
Data handling and consent
This is where the two products are furthest apart, and it matters because both hear entire conversations.
Final Round AI's Privacy Policy was last updated on 1 April 2024. It lists interview transcriptions, interviewer questions, user responses, resumes, cover letters and job goals as collected data, and states that personal information is used to test, train and improve its AI models. It gives no retention periods, names no AI sub-processors or hosting provider, contains a California (CCPA) section but no GDPR or international-transfer statement, and offers no deletion route beyond email, although the app itself has a Danger Zone setting to delete the account, remove the voice sample or erase coaching memory. Session audio is recorded and uploaded automatically with no opt-out. The plan page says the product works with ChatGPT 5.6, Claude and Gemini 3.0, so interview content is processed by third-party frontier models. Its security page makes no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or GDPR claim; the homepage shows SOC 2, CCPA and GDPR badges with the caption In progress, and audit reports and DPAs are available on request. The company is Pump Labs Inc., a Delaware corporation based in San Francisco.
ConversationPilot is operated by Future Systems AI Ltd, a UK company registered in England and Wales. Audio is processed live for transcription through OpenAI and is never stored; transcripts and reports are stored for the user and can be deleted call by call; nothing is ever used to train models; coaching and scores are derived only from the words spoken, never from voice tone or facial analysis. Its terms are explicit that no bot joins a call and that users must comply with recording and consent law.
On consent, the two tools ask different things of you. Final Round AI's default is that the interviewer does not know it is running; its own FAQ acknowledges that screen-capture protection is not a guarantee against every platform or monitoring tool, and a vendor blog concedes that undisclosed AI use in rounds where it is not permitted misrepresents your capabilities. ConversationPilot asks you to treat it like any other call tool: where the law or the other party's rules require it, tell people the call is being transcribed.
When to choose Final Round AI instead
Start with the job you need done. If you are a job candidate and you want a free, unlimited AI mock-interview partner with a scored debrief, Final Round AI's free plan does that well and ConversationPilot's recruitment mode is not aimed at you. If you are preparing for technical rounds and want practice with coding prompts across 25 languages, Final Round AI has tooling ConversationPilot does not attempt. Its 4.9 rating from 72 reviews on Product Hunt, though the reviews are about two years old, reflects real enthusiasm for the practice experience, and the company is established, with a $6.88 million seed round led by Uncork Capital in January 2025.
If what you want is a concealed feed of answers during a real interview, that is a decision about honesty and risk rather than software, and it is not one ConversationPilot is designed to support. Weigh the vendor's own hedge that detection cannot be ruled out, independent reports of the overlay appearing in screen shares and proctored assessments, a Trustpilot score of 2.9 from 276 reviews with billing and refund complaints prominent, and what an employer would do if they found out.
Choose ConversationPilot if you are running the conversation, whether that is a sales call, a candidate screen, a renewal or an investor pitch, and you want live coaching that everyone in the room could see without embarrassment, a report afterwards, team features when you need them, and a data policy you could show your compliance lead.
Switching, or just trying it
There is nothing to migrate between these two products, because they hold different things: Final Round AI keeps transcripts, debriefs, saved solutions, coaching memory and a voice sample, and its new desktop app, older desktop app and web app do not share history with each other. If you are leaving, cancel from Settings, Account and Billing, Manage subscription, then use the Danger Zone to delete your account and voice sample.
To try ConversationPilot, download the desktop app for macOS or Windows, pick a mode (sales, recruitment, customer success or fundraising) and run your next call, or a practice call with a colleague, with Zoom, Teams or Google Meet open as normal. The Free plan gives you 3 recorded calls a month with a report and no live coaching; the 7-day trial on any paid plan unlocks live coaching cards, the scorecard and follow-up drafts. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and never if you have not run a coached call. Candidates who want interview practice can rehearse with a friend on a video call and read the report; for the real interview, follow the employer's rules on AI assistance.

Frequently asked questions
Is ConversationPilot a Final Round AI alternative?
Only if you are the professional running the call. Final Round AI is built for job candidates and feeds them answers during interviews; ConversationPilot coaches salespeople, recruiters, hiring managers, customer success managers and founders while they lead a conversation, then writes the report. For interviews, ConversationPilot's recruitment mode sits on the interviewer's side, and candidates should use it for preparation and practice.
Does ConversationPilot hide itself from interviewers the way Final Round AI does?
That is not how it is positioned. ConversationPilot is a live coach on your side of the call, private to you and transparent to everyone else: no bot joins the meeting, and the coaching cards appear only on your screen. Final Round AI markets Stealth Mode, on by default, as a headline feature, while its own FAQ says detection by every platform or monitoring tool cannot be ruled out.
Which one records my calls?
Final Round AI's FAQ states that its desktop app automatically records session audio during live, phone and practice sessions and uploads it afterwards, with no on/off control in Settings. ConversationPilot processes audio live for transcription and never stores it; only the transcript and report remain, and you can delete any call.
Is my data used to train AI models?
Final Round AI's Privacy Policy, last updated 1 April 2024, says personal information including interview transcriptions and responses is used to test, train and improve its AI models. ConversationPilot never uses your conversations or transcripts to train any model, and its terms say so explicitly.
How do the prices compare?
Final Round AI's live Copilot costs $150 per month, $83.33 per month billed quarterly, or $25 per month billed annually (about $300 upfront), with a Premium MAX tier at about $500 a year and no free trial for live sessions. ConversationPilot's Solo plan is $39 per month or $384 a year, Team is $59 per seat and Manager is $89 per seat, each with a 7-day card-required trial that never charges an account that has not run a coached call.
Can a job candidate use ConversationPilot for interviews?
For preparation and practice, yes: rehearse with a friend on a video call, read the report on structure, talk time and answers, and repeat. During a real interview, use it only where the employer's rules permit AI assistance. Final Round AI's own blog acknowledges that undisclosed AI use in rounds where it is not allowed misrepresents your capabilities.
Does either tool need a bot or a virtual audio driver?
Neither needs a bot: both are native desktop apps for macOS and Windows that capture system audio and the microphone directly, so nothing appears in the participant list. ConversationPilot captures system audio natively on macOS 14.2 or newer and on Windows, and on older Macs uses the free BlackHole virtual audio device, which its sound check sets up; it keeps your mic and the other side as separate streams for exact attribution. Final Round AI requires macOS 14.4 or newer for same-computer meeting audio and asks for a voice sample to separate speakers; its documentation does not mention a driver.
ConversationPilot transcribes conversations to coach you. Where recording or transcription law requires it, tell the other party and obtain consent before the call; in interviews, follow the employer's rules on AI assistance.
