ConversationPilot vs LockedIn AI: transparent live coaching vs a hidden interview copilot

LockedIn AI is a candidate-side interview assistant sold on staying hidden. ConversationPilot is a live coach on your side of the call, private to you and transparent to everyone else. Here is a fair comparison of what each does, what it costs, and who it is for.

Quick answer

LockedIn AI is a real-time interview copilot for job seekers: it listens to a live interview or online assessment through system or tab audio and shows the candidate suggested answers and code, with a desktop "Stealth Mode" marketed as hidden from screen sharing and a "Duo" mode that streams the interview to a human helper. ConversationPilot is a real-time coaching copilot for the people running the conversation, in sales, recruiting on the interviewer side, customer success and fundraising: it listens via system audio with no bot joining, surfaces coaching cards only you can see, and produces a post-call report and score, and it never stores audio or trains on your calls. LockedIn AI is priced from $54.99 per month for its Unlimited plan (checked 14 September 2026); ConversationPilot is $39 per month for Solo with a free tier and a 7-day card-required trial that is never charged if you have not run a coached call. Pick LockedIn AI if you are a candidate who wants AI answers fed to you mid-interview; pick ConversationPilot if you want to get better at the calls you lead, under rules everyone on the call would accept.

Quick comparison

LockedIn AI and ConversationPilot both belong to the newer category of tools that help during a live conversation rather than summarising it afterwards. That is where the similarity ends. LockedIn AI is built for one side of one kind of conversation: the candidate in a remote job interview or online assessment. It transcribes the interviewer, generates an answer or a block of code, and shows it to the candidate in an overlay that its desktop app is designed to keep out of screen sharing.

ConversationPilot is built for the person leading a business conversation. It runs as a desktop app on macOS and Windows, with a web app as well, listens to the call through system audio with no bot joining, and shows glanceable coaching cards: the next question to ask, a way to handle the objection just raised, buying or candidate signals, a live qualification scorecard. Every coached call is followed by a post-call report and score. Its modes are sales, recruitment on the interviewer side, customer success and fundraising. The overlay sits beside your meeting window and is private to you in the same way your notes are; it is not sold as a way to avoid detection, and you are expected to disclose it where law or the other party's policy requires.

  • LockedIn AI: candidate-side interview and coding assistant, marketed on staying hidden
  • ConversationPilot: live coach for sales, interviewer-side recruiting, customer success and fundraising
  • Both are real-time and both use system audio rather than a meeting bot
  • The difference is who it serves, what it suggests, and whether it is meant to be disclosed

Who each tool is for

LockedIn AI targets job seekers taking remote interviews and online assessments, with a strong skew towards software engineers, data scientists and finance and consulting candidates. Its own feature pages list SWE, finance, consulting, marketing, sales, product management and cybersecurity roles. The coding copilot reads a problem from the screen and works with LeetCode, HackerRank, CodeSignal, CoderPad, HackerEarth, Codility and InterviewBit, and there are VS Code and Cursor integrations, a Chrome extension, a web app, and iOS and Android apps. It also offers mock interviews with performance reports, which is the one part of the product that is unambiguously about practice.

There is no interviewer-side, sales, customer-success or manager offering, and no per-seat plans; every plan is a single-user account. The homepage uses some generic "meeting copilot" language, but every feature page, tutorial and comparison page is about job interviews.

ConversationPilot is for people whose job depends on running conversations well: account executives and SDRs, recruiters and hiring managers, customer success managers, founders on investor calls, and the managers who coach them. Solo is a single seat; Team and Manager plans add seats, a manager dashboard, benchmarks, a call review library and playbooks. For interviews specifically, ConversationPilot's recruitment mode sits on the interviewer's side, with structured questions, candidate signals such as notice period or counter-offer risk, and a screening scorecard. Candidates can use it to prepare and practise, for example running a mock interview with a friend and reviewing the report, but it is not built to feed answers into a real interview, and using any live aid in an interview should follow the employer's rules.

Real-time or post-call?

Both tools are real-time first, but they measure and describe their speed very differently. LockedIn AI's homepage claims a "116ms average response speed" and its AI Copilot page says answers arrive "under 1 second". Two independent reviews in 2026 measured roughly four to five seconds from the end of a question to a usable suggestion, and described some suggestions as generic. Whichever figure you trust, the product's job is to produce a full answer the candidate can read out, and a full answer takes time to generate and time to read.

ConversationPilot's live prompts arrive in under two seconds, and they are deliberately short: a single coaching card rather than a script. That is a design choice, not just a speed figure. A card that says "ask about budget owner" or "reframe on value before conceding price" is something you can glance at and act on while still listening; a paragraph is not.

After the call, LockedIn AI provides session transcription, post-interview summaries and, for mock sessions, performance reports. ConversationPilot produces a structured report and score for every coached call, covering the summary, signals, action items and a follow-up draft, and on Team and Manager plans those reports feed a manager dashboard and call review library. LockedIn AI has no scoring or coaching for the interviewer or employer side.

How each tool captures audio

Neither product uses a meeting bot, which matters if you dislike a "Notetaker" participant appearing in the attendee list. LockedIn AI's desktop app captures system or meeting audio plus the microphone; its Chrome extension captures the active tab's audio ("Active Tab Isolation"); its coding copilot reads problems from the screen via drag-to-select regions or screenshots; and its phone copilot runs on a separate phone or tablet listening to the room while the interview runs on the computer. LockedIn Duo goes further and streams the candidate's screen and live audio to a human helper who types answers into a panel the candidate sees. The vendor states that "Duo never joins your meeting".

ConversationPilot captures system audio and your microphone directly on your Mac or Windows machine, with no bot and no browser extension. It works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet and any other call you can hear through your computer. Audio is processed live for transcription and coaching; the audio itself is never stored, and the transcript and report are saved to your account for you to keep or delete.

The practical difference is intent rather than mechanism. LockedIn AI's desktop "Stealth Mode", which the vendor's support centre says is desktop-only and is included on every paid plan except Unlimited General, exists so that the interviewer does not see the overlay during screen sharing, and the vendor's own blog describes the app as excluded from screen capture at the OS level, including in proctored tests. Reviewers have nevertheless documented the browser extension being visible during screen share and, in at least one case, the desktop window too. ConversationPilot's overlay is private to you in the ordinary sense: it sits beside your meeting window rather than in it, so the people you are speaking with see only what you choose to share. It is not sold as a way to defeat proctoring or to avoid telling people it is there.

Languages

LockedIn AI publishes several different language counts. Its multilingual blog from February 2025 says 42 languages, its Final Round AI comparison page says "42+" with auto-language detection and accent recognition, its AI Copilot page says "45+" with an English and Spanish bilingual mode, its homepage and Parakeet comparison page say "50+", and another homepage mention refers to "99+ languages/accents". A support FAQ describes bilingual packs for Spanish, Mandarin and Arabic paired with English, plus multilingual auto-detect. The coverage is genuinely broad; the numbers are simply inconsistent across the vendor's own pages, so treat any single figure as approximate.

ConversationPilot follows the language the call is held in, detected automatically. Coaching cards, signals and the post-call report are written in the language of the conversation, so a recruiter screening in German or a founder pitching in Portuguese gets the same experience as an English-speaking sales rep. You can also fix the language in your settings if you prefer. Pricing is shown in USD, GBP and EUR.

Pricing, checked 14 September 2026

LockedIn AI's pricing page is JavaScript-rendered and, according to a competitor review updated the same day, shows geo-localised currency with stacked promotional discounts; we could only render USD. On the Unlimited tab, the Monthly plan was $54.99 per month, displayed as 50 per cent off a "standard monthly price of $109.98", and the 3 Months plan was $39.99 per month billed every three months (about $119.97 per quarter), displayed as 64 per cent off. Both include unlimited interview, coding, meeting and online-assessment sessions plus unlimited mock interviews, a choice of OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek models, unlimited document upload, and up to two hours per interview. The Unlimited Professional tier showed at $119.99 per month. The support centre describes the wider plan family as Free, Unlimited General, Unlimited Pro, Credit Plans (monthly, quarterly or yearly, "1 credit = 2 minutes of Copilot time", credits never expire) and a one-time Lifetime purchase; Stealth Mode and Duo are included on all paid plans except Unlimited General. Third parties list the Credit plan at $69.99 per month or $49.99 per month billed quarterly, and Lifetime at $1,499.25.

Two details are worth knowing before you buy. First, mobile in-app prices are much higher: the US App Store listed Unlimited Monthly at $139.99 and Credits Monthly at $84.99, and the vendor's own FAQ asks "Why does a subscription cost more in the mobile app?". Second, although the pricing page carries a "Money-back guarantee" badge, the Refund Policy updated 15 July 2026 says monthly and quarterly subscriptions are non-refundable once started, and annual subscriptions get a partial refund only if cancelled within seven days. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. The free plan needs no card and gives five starting credits, which is ten minutes of copilot time.

ConversationPilot has a Free plan with three recorded calls per month and post-call reports but no live coaching. Solo is $39 per month or $384 per year and includes live coaching in all four modes, the live scorecard, post-call reports and follow-up drafts, and 100 coached calls per month. Team is $59 per seat per month or $588 per seat per year with unlimited coached calls, a manager dashboard, benchmarks, a call review library and playbooks. Manager is $89 per seat per month or $900 per seat per year and adds advanced coaching analytics, org-wide playbook controls and a dedicated success manager. Paid plans start with a 7-day trial that requires a card; you are told the first-charge date at checkout, at trial start and three days before, and can cancel online in one click. If your account has never run a coached call when the trial ends, it is extended once rather than charged, and if it is still unused after that it is cancelled rather than charged. If you are charged and contact us within 14 days having run no coached calls since, the first charge is refunded in full.

Data handling and consent

LockedIn AI's Privacy Policy, last updated 14 July 2026, explains that microphone audio and, on desktop, any meeting or system audio you choose to share is transcribed in real time by third-party speech-to-text providers, and that uploaded resumes and documents are converted to vector embeddings. It names AssemblyAI for speech-to-text, Microsoft Azure OpenAI for language models, ElevenLabs for text-to-speech and Pinecone for vector search, alongside Stripe, Google Analytics and GitHub. It states that the company does not sell personal information and that providers process content to deliver the service rather than for their own advertising. It does not say whether user content is used to train models, gives no retention period for transcripts or session data, and names no hosting region; content and embeddings are deleted on account deletion and inactive accounts are deleted after one year. No SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR or CCPA posture is claimed, and the /security URL returns a 404. The Terms of Service are governed by US law, do not name the legal entity (the mobile apps are published by Cyber Gravity LLC), and make the user "solely responsible for obtaining the explicit consent of all participants" and for GDPR, CCPA and two-party consent compliance.

ConversationPilot is operated by Future Systems AI Ltd, a UK company registered in England and Wales. Audio is processed live for transcription via OpenAI and is never stored; transcripts and reports are stored for you, you can delete any call, and deleting your account deletes everything. Your conversations are never used to train any model, and coaching, signals and scores are derived only from the words spoken, never from voice tone or facial analysis. These commitments are written into the Terms rather than left to a marketing page.

On consent the two products agree on the law and differ on posture. Both make you responsible for complying with recording and transcription laws, which in California, much of the EU and the UK can require the consent of everyone on the call. ConversationPilot's Terms say so plainly and its product is designed to be something you can disclose. LockedIn AI's Terms say the same while its marketing promises the interviewer "sees nothing and hears nothing". The legal obligation sits with the user either way; only one of the two products is built with disclosure in mind.

When to choose LockedIn AI instead

If you are a candidate and what you want is an AI that reads the interviewer's question and hands you a complete answer or working code in the moment, LockedIn AI does that and ConversationPilot does not. Its coding tooling is genuinely strong: it reads problems off the screen, supports twelve-plus programming languages and works with the major assessment platforms, and it lets you pick between OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek and Grok per session. Its surface area, spanning desktop, web, extension, iOS, Android, VS Code and Cursor, is the widest in its category. Unlimited plans really are unlimited, with two-hour sessions. The mock interview mode with performance reports and resume grounding is a legitimate preparation tool. The free plan needs no card, and recent Trustpilot reviews frequently praise its support staff.

Be clear-eyed about the trade-offs. Its Trustpilot rating is currently withheld for a breach of guidelines, with fake reviews removed and 22 per cent of 120 reviews at one star, many citing refund and cancellation friction. Employer-side vendors now publish detection guides that name it, and most employers treat undisclosed use in a real interview as misrepresentation. If your goal is to walk into interviews better prepared, the mock interview mode is the part of LockedIn AI worth paying for, and you should compare it against practising with a friend and a transparent coach.

Choose ConversationPilot if you are on the other side of the table, or on either side of a sales, customer or investor conversation, and you want to get better at it rather than get through it. Recruiters and hiring managers get structured questions, candidate signals and a screening scorecard; sales teams get objection handling, qualification and buying signals; managers get reports, benchmarks and a review library. Everything it does can be disclosed to the people you are speaking with.

Switching from LockedIn AI, or trying ConversationPilot alongside it

There is nothing to migrate. LockedIn AI stores your interview transcripts and uploaded documents in its own account; ConversationPilot does not import them and does not need to. If you are leaving LockedIn AI, cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, remember that monthly and quarterly plans are non-refundable once started, and delete your account if you want your content and embeddings removed rather than waiting for the one-year inactivity deletion.

To try ConversationPilot, install the desktop app on macOS or Windows (or use the web app), pick a mode, recruitment if you are interviewing candidates and sales, customer success or fundraising otherwise, and start your next call as normal. The Free plan lets you record three calls a month and read the reports with no card at all. If you want live coaching, start the 7-day Solo trial: a card is required, the first-charge date is shown at checkout and emailed to you, and if you never run a coached call the trial is extended and then cancelled rather than charged. Candidates preparing for interviews can run a mock session with a friend acting as interviewer, use the recruitment mode from the interviewer's seat to see what a structured screen looks like, and review the report afterwards. For real interviews, follow the employer's rules on aids, and tell them if you are using one.

Frequently asked questions

Is ConversationPilot a LockedIn AI alternative?

Only partly. LockedIn AI is a candidate-side tool that feeds you answers during a real interview or assessment. ConversationPilot is a live coach for the person running a sales, recruiting, customer or investor conversation, and for candidates it is a preparation and practice tool rather than something to use covertly in a live interview. If you want to lead better calls, it is a strong fit; if you want answers read to you mid-interview, it is not what it does.

Does ConversationPilot hide itself during screen sharing like LockedIn AI's Stealth Mode?

ConversationPilot's overlay is private to you in the ordinary sense: it sits beside your meeting window rather than in it, so the people you are speaking with see only what you choose to share. The difference is intent. It is not sold as a way to evade detection or proctoring, and you are expected to disclose it where law or the other party's policy requires. LockedIn AI markets its desktop Stealth Mode specifically as hidden from screen sharing and proctoring; that feature is excluded from its Unlimited General plan and its browser extension does not have it.

Can a recruiter or hiring manager use LockedIn AI?

LockedIn AI has no interviewer-side mode, no team seats and no scoring for employers; every plan is a single candidate account. ConversationPilot's recruitment mode is built for the interviewer's seat, with structured questions, candidate signals and a screening scorecard, and its Team and Manager plans add seats, benchmarks and a call review library.

Which is cheaper?

On the headline monthly figure ConversationPilot Solo at $39 is cheaper than LockedIn AI's Unlimited plan at $54.99 (checked 14 September 2026); LockedIn AI's quarterly plan works out at $39.99 per month billed three months at a time. LockedIn AI's free plan gives ten minutes of copilot time with no card. ConversationPilot's free plan gives three recorded calls a month without live coaching, and its paid trial is never charged if you have not run a coached call.

Does either tool store my calls or train on them?

ConversationPilot never stores audio and never uses conversations or transcripts to train any model; transcripts and reports are yours to keep or delete. LockedIn AI's privacy policy names its transcription and model providers and says it does not sell personal information, but it contains no statement on model training and no retention period for transcripts.

Do I have to tell the other person I am using ConversationPilot?

Where recording or transcription law requires consent, including in the UK, much of the EU and states such as California, yes, and ConversationPilot's Terms say so. Beyond the law, ConversationPilot is designed to be something you can disclose: a live coach on your side of the call, private to you and transparent to everyone else. In an interview, follow the employer's rules on aids.

Is LockedIn AI a legitimate product?

It is a real product with working features and a user base the vendor puts at over a million, and its mock interview mode is a reasonable preparation tool. Its marketing as undetectable has drawn employer-side detection guides, and its Trustpilot rating is currently withheld after fake reviews were removed, with recurring complaints about refunds and cancellation. Weigh those against its genuine strengths in coding assistance, model choice and platform coverage.

Recording or transcribing a conversation may require the consent of everyone on the call, including in the UK, most EU member states and US states such as California. Tell the other parties you are using a live coaching tool where the law requires it, and follow the employer's rules on aids in any interview.
